Kooguy's Notes on the Serrano/Eagnas 740 Combination Stringing Machine
| Initially, I was thinking
to go with a brand new machine but had decided to go for an upgrade.
The main reason is because that machine has been solid over the
years other than the mount system which I think can be easily
retrofitted. After months of research on various forums and checking
my machine, I narrow down to Eagnas's Flex 740 model which I think
is a good fit and low cost.
The conversion was straight forward. The first step is to remove the old two point mounting system. I then made a round wood turntable, drill a 5/8" hole where the Flex 740's small turntable will go in here. Don't use the round washer (the big ring) under the turntable, put it away. I just fit the turntable tight to the base to prevent any flexing during string tensioning process. The next step is to put the six-point mounting system on and you are done. |
